In this article we are going to analyze what are the important characteristics when choosing your set monitor, with which you are going to edit your videos.
You’ll find a small list of the screens that are on the market and that meet those requirements to facilitate you the work as a content creator.

The most important characteristic is the amount of compatible color space, that is, the percentage of color that it is capable of emitting with respect to the total. It is important that our screen reflects a wide spectrum of color, because it would be useless to have a very good camera that captures the nuances of an image with great definition, if they are not reflected on the screen. There are several color spaces:
For video editing, sRGB is enough, but the higher the percentage represented of that space, the better, that is, we will look for a monitor that emits over 90% (of space) sRGB.
Another property to take into account is the manufacturing technology of the screen. Influences the image quality at viewing angles.
It is advisable to choose monitors that are factory calibrated, with certifications such as AQ Color, Pantone, Calman, to ensure that the colors emitted are as close as possible to a pattern.
IPS technology is the only one, at the moment, that guarantees that the colors are not modified depending on the viewing angle. Avoid TN and VA technologies.
Screen resolution is also an aspect to consider. The minimum we should ask for is 1080p (Full HD), and the highest resolution would be 4k. Everything will depend on what resolution you are going to upload your videos. It happens as with the color space, it is a pity to record videos at 4k and not be able to «savor» them because our monitor does not go beyond Full HD.
Screen size is a personal preference. I recommend screens from 27 inches, but keep in mind that the larger, the further away you will have to place them to be able to see the whole thing without moving your neck.
As for connectivity, today, there are monitors that have a USB-C port with which to connect to devices and be electrically powered with a single cable.
